Deep Tissue & Fascial Massage in Chamonix
Deep tissue and fascial massage in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc for the tightness that never quite lets go — the calves that are always hard, the quads that don't recover, the shoulders and lower back that carry a whole season. Slower and more specific than a standard rub, working through the deeper layers of muscle and fascia to restore give and range. At the studio on Rue du Dr Paccard, or mobile to your accommodation.
Who it's for
Deep tissue work suits you if you're carrying chronic, stubborn tightness rather than a fresh, acute injury: mountain legs that feel permanently loaded, a mid-back that seizes at the desk and on the bike, an old area that's never quite moved well since. It's also for the athlete who's had lighter massage before and thought ‘that was nice, but it didn't really change anything.’
It's not about being pummelled. Deep tissue is about depth and precision, not violence — reaching the layer that's actually restricted and giving it time to release, rather than skating over the surface harder.
What a session involves
Scott starts by finding where the restriction actually lives — often not where you feel the pain. Then it's slow, sustained pressure and myofascial techniques that work with the tissue rather than forcing it: waiting for the release, following the fascial lines, using your breath to let a tight layer let go.
He works through the deeper muscle and the fascia around it — the connective tissue that can bind and limit range long after the muscle itself has calmed down. Expect him to move a joint, treat, and re-check, so the change is something you feel in how you move, not just how you feel on the table.
Because it's deeper, it's a conversation the whole way: pressure that's firm and effective but always inside what you can breathe through. Brute force just makes tissue guard and tighten — the opposite of the point.
What to expect afterwards
You'll usually walk out with noticeably more range and a lighter, less gripped feeling. Deep work can leave you tender for a day or two — sometimes a little more than a standard massage — so it's normal to feel like you've done a hard session. Water, gentle movement and a decent night's sleep do the rest.
For something that's been stuck a long time, one session helps, but two or three spaced a week or two apart is usually what properly shifts it. Keep the deeper work away from the day before a big event — save it for recovery weeks and training blocks.
